General Info
Everyone is welcome to participate in all pools, and comment on blogs and message boards. Each user account may only have 1 team in each pool. Having multiple teams in a pool is permitted through multiple user accounts. Each registered team's entry fee is $10 Canadian.
Keep in mind the site is here to have some fun and get a little more enjoyment and entertainment out of the pools. As always good natured ribbing is encouraged, but profane language will not be tolerated.
General Prizing Rules
- Prizes will be awarded to at least 10% of the participating teams in each pool.
- Included in this 10% will be a prize for the last place team.
- The prize pool will consist of all entry fees for the teams, minus $20 (to pay hosting costs) from each pool with over 20 entrants, and minus another $10 that will go towards the SublimeWeb Cup champ.
- First prize in each pool will be between 40% and 50% of the prize pool.
- The actual payout will be decided by the site administrators and posted on the site shortly after the cutoff date for payments.
- In case of any tie, the corresponding prizes will be added together and then split evenly between each team involved in the tie.
- If teams are tied for a spot with no payout in the following spot, that prize will be split evenly between each team involved in the tie.
- On occasion there may be special pools run with different prizing structures. The payout will be announced prior to registration in those cases.
- All prizes (including bonuses) will be paid out at the end of the season.
SublimeWeb Cup Rules
- Every poolie (single username) who has registered a team in any of the four pools finishing in a calendar year is eligible.
- Points are not transferable between user accounts.
- Entering all 4 pools in the SW Cup season is not required to win (but it would probably increase your chances).
- The 2008 SW Cup season counts the following pools: 2007 Loser Football (Feb), 2007-2008 Regular Season Hockey (Apr.), 2008 Playoff Hockey (June) & 2008 Nascar (Nov).
- First place in the Cup standings after the 2008 Nascar pool is the champion. They'll be awarded $50 ($10 from each pool and a bonus $10) and their name on the Cup Trophy.
Regular Season Hockey Rules
- Each team will consist of 21 skaters and 3 goaltenders.
- Scoring will be 1 point for each goal & 1 point for each assist credited to a player on your team. Goaltenders also earn 2 points for each win & additional 3 points for each shutout credited to them.
- No points will be awarded for shootout goals.
- Scoring will be based on the official stats found on the NHL.com website.
- Statistics will be double checked by another person prior to announcing winners. Winners will be announced between 1 and 2 weeks after the final game of the playoffs, giving time for the NHL to change scoring.
- Beginning with the 2007-2008 pool, bonus prizes will be awarded for the team with the most points over a specified time period. Beginning of Season - November 30, December 1 - January 31, February 1 - End of Regular Season.
Playoff Hockey Rules
- Each team will consist of 20 skaters (6 forwards and 4 defense from each conference) selected from the list provided.
- Scoring will be 1 point for each goal & 1 point for each assist credited to a player on your team.
- Scoring will be based on the official stats found on the NHL.com website.
- Statistics will be double checked by another person prior to announcing winners. Winners will be announced between 1 and 2 weeks after the final game of the playoffs, giving time for the NHL to change scoring.
- Beginning with the 2007 playoff pool, bonus prizes will be awarded for the team with the most points in each round of the playoffs. (the Conf. finals and Stanley Cup finals will be combined to make a round)
Loser Football Rules
- Each NFL team has a corresponding point value based on their finish the prior season.
- The Superbowl champion will be worth 32 points down to the last place team which will be worth 1 point.
- Each team will pick one NFL team each week to lose. If the NFL team does lose, the team earns the corresponding number of points.
- In the unlikely event of a tie, neither team gets points (has to be a loss).
- The loser pool season begins week one of the regular season and continues through the Superbowl.
- The default pick each week will be whoever plays the NFL team playing that week with the lowest point value.
- Upon registration for a team, the default picks will be added for each week in the regular season to be changed at anytime prior to that weeks deadline.
- Playoff defaults will be added to each team following completion of the previous playoff round.
Nascar Rules
- Each driver has a corresponding salary based on their performance in prior seasons and status for the current season.
- Each team will consist of 8 drivers, selected prior to the first race, with a combined salary no greater than $10,000,000.
- The season begins with the Daytona 500 and continues through to the final race in November and includes 'The Chase'.
- The qualifying races for Daytona and the All-Star Challenge Race will not count in the standings.
- Points are awarded to your team based on the Nextel Cup points awarded each driver for each race.
- Leading a lap, and most laps lead bonuses do apply as well.
- The 10 bonus points for each win awarded to 'Chase' drivers when points are reset will not count in our standings.
- Points penalties have no effect on the pool points, unless Nascar penalizes a driver's finish.
- There will be 3 to 5 assigned bonus races, where the top team in that race is awarded a bonus prize.
- In each season there will be at least one short track, and one road course selected as a bonus race.
- There will be no trades of drivers at any point in the season.
